The interesting shift in education is not that schools are finally letting students touch AI tools. The resource describes using strategic inaccuracies, structured verification activities, source evaluation through a 5 step process, and assessment focused on the verification process rather than only on whether students found the error. That last part is quietly radical. If the grade is only about spotting the falsehood, students learn a game of gotcha. If the grade is about the method, they learn a transferable habit. This is the difference between teaching students that AI sometimes hallucinates and teaching them how to live in a media environment where fluency, authority, and accuracy no longer reliably travel together. ISTELive 26 is useful as a marker because it names what many educators have been feeling their way toward: AI literacy is not a race to produce more with less friction. It is a discipline of slowing down at the exact moment the machine invites speed. For educators, the next curriculum question is not simply which AI tools belong in the classroom. It is whether every AI activity also teaches students how to doubt well, verify carefully, and explain why they believe the answer in front of them.
